....that taking a Calcium supplement that's made from Calcium Carbonate is not as good for you as one made with Calcium Citrate and Maltrate with added Magnesium, Zinc and Cooper. The added minerals help in the absorption of Calcium and Ca Citrate/Maltrate are absorbed better by the body than Ca Carbonate which is ground up clam shells. By switching the form of Calcium you take, you can better protect yourself from Osteoporosis. MEN can also get Osteoporosis and tha also runs in the family!

Also be sure to stay away from Tran fat and check the ingredients for hydrogentated or partially hydrogenated oil...they are BAD! They cause around 70,000 premature deaths in the US a year. In a sense I guess you could say that they are like poision....toxic for the body.
Just another way to keep our hearts healthy!

Don't be fooled by foods that say "12 grain" or "multi-grain". Make sure the word "whole" is the first word in the list of ingredients. Also look to make sure that the product will provide at least 2 g. fiber per serving.
Government guidelines say 3 servings of whole grains daily will reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. A serving is about a half-cup of oatmeal, a slice of bread, a cup of cold cereal flakes.
You need to watch the sugar, fat, and carb content, too. You've probably noticed that General Mills has put a label on many of their packages that say "excellent source" or a "good source" of whole grains. They've even stuck this label on very sugary cereals!

....that many whole grain breads also contain large amounts of 'high fructose corn syrup' which is quickly absorbed into your system. There are whole grain breads which DO NOT contain this quickly metabolised sugar.
