What Christmas Eve traditions do you have?

On Christmas Eve you have to read "The Night Before Christmas" and have eggnog and Christmas cookies. Then just before bed you read the real Christmas story from the Bible, in the book of Luke. But don't forget to leave Cookies and eggnog for Santa!

Mom and Dad had the tradition of tying our bedroom doors closed so we couldn't peek/sneak out.

We drive around and look at Christmas lights.
We eat goodies and drink eggnog, and play Christmas games.
We read "The Night Before Christmas".
We read the account in the Bible.
We leave goodies for Santa, and carrots for the reindeer.
We will also be finishing up our "12 Days of Christmas" service project on Christmas Eve.
This year we will be having a Shepherd's Dinner, too. (A friend told us about this).
We will spread a blanket on the floor and eat food similar to what the shepherds in Bethlehem might have eaten the night of Christ's birth: dried fruit, bread, nuts, olives, cheese, etc. We'll all dress like shepherds, too, as we eat by the light of the Christmas tree. Then during dinner we'll have Jordyn slip away and change into an angel costume. She'll come back and proclaim to us "glad tidings of great joy". Then we will go to the spot in the house where Baby Jesus is. (Hopefully, our "Fill the Manger" thing that we mentioned on our website will have provided him with a nice, soft bed.)
If this goes well, we will probably keep this tradition every year.
